Iceland - Seljalandsfoss / Skogafoss / Black Sand Beach

Day two of our trip included Seljalandsfoss waterfall, Skogafoss waterfall and Black Sand Beach in Vik. We were on our way to Fosshotel Nupar to stay for two nights and these three sights were the perfect stops in between.

Seljalandsfoss

Heading out from Reykjavik, it took us an hour and 45 minutes to reach Seljalandsfoss waterfall. There were plenty of car spaces and as with most of the major sites, there were toilets and a cafe or two. One thing that was so convenient during our trip in Iceland was that you never had to worry about finding a toilet because at each and every one of the spots we visited, a toilet was always available.

The waterfall was amazing and there were stairs on the left side that you could walk up but the steps were very slippery so we skipped going up. There is also a nice walking trail once you pass the waterfall and here you can see a lovely landscape of a field.

Skogafoss

A bigger and taller waterfall at Skogafoss and there is a staircase going up where you can see the stream of water flowing down which was incredible. Be mindful that you have enough stamina to walk up those stairs but once you are there then give yourself a pat on the back!

Black Sand Beach

Out last stop before checking into Fosshotel Nupar was the Black Sand Beach in Vik! I absolutely loved this beach so much! We spent the most time here just walking and running up towards the waves and then running away from it! There is a supermarket near the beach so you could even pick up some food and have it at the beach during the warmer months.
